Leadership
Business needs leaders, and so does Change. Leaders are people who:-
- Can recognise opportunities and threats
- Create support for action
- Allocate resources
- Deal with dissension
- Encourage and inspire people
- Get things done!
Leaders and bosses are not the same thing, although they should be. Leadership can come from many parts of an organisation and sometimes can arise spontaneously from someone with a good idea and real passion.
One thing is certainly true, leadership is tough, and lonely. We can help with our mentoring program, which provides support for the man / woman making the decisions. It is often critical to have someone to discuss things with who does not have a vested interest in the outcome, who can ask good questions, challenge thinking and introduce new ideas. Also, someone who can afford to maintain a focus on the 'Big Picture' when the inevitable need for fire-fighting comes about.
