General Election – Change Lessons

I confess to being one of the 30% who hasn’t decided; I think Labour has shown a lack of answers and leadership going into the campaign, I don’t think the Tories are up to it, and the  LibDems just are never going to be a serious alternative. I find myself thinking a ”A plague on all your houses!”  However, like it or not things are changing before our very eyes.  The TV debates are having a real impact; the online polls are providing real time feed back; the new social media are able to give voice to us, the little people.

I confess to never having voted for either Tories or Labour, but this time if I vote LibDem again it is purely a vote for change

So what does this teach me about Change?

  • That once you mobilise the grass roots the few at the top have to listen
  • That new technology must be embraced and used to serve your cause
  • That sometimes you can’t get to the right solution in one step and you have to simply back the people most likely to change the chemistry of the environment
  • To effect change you need momentum
  • Communication is the heart of Change
  • You need more than two options to do anything more than swing to & fro
